Product Review: Good, sturdy bunk bed
This is a rather good bed. It looks nice, is sturdy and standard single mattresses fit (just about!). But given the modest head-room for the lower bed, I'd recommend using a thinner mattress is possible.

Assembly: It took two of us 2 hours to assemble the bed. This is not bad. The part (screws/bolts) supplied were well made and easy to put in place. The one flaw was to require that *each* bed slat had to be screwed in individually. This took up most of our time. The manufacturers could have made it easier by joining the slats together using nylon tape (as done by Ikea).

The beds can be used individually, but this requires some unscrewing: the ladder and bed rails (on the ladder-side) of the upper bed would need to be removed to make this possible.

The bed is made of pine which is a soft wood and which I doubt will tolerate repeated screwing/unscrewing. So don't expect to disassemble the bed too many times --- not that anyone would really want to...
